These crystals are made from 100% recycled clear glass and are one of the reasons why MagnaPool® is so special. The crystals replace sand in swimming pools by acting as direct replacements for zeolite or sand. Despite its popularity, sand filtration has many limitations, including potentially harmful bacteria growth, inefficiency of backwashing, and additional strain on sanitizers.

Bacteria cannot attach to Zodiac glass crystals due to their smooth surface. As a result, you and your family will enjoy a healthier filter tank. Through more efficient backwashing, glass crystals can save up to 65% of water when compared with regular sand. As a result of the larger spaces between particles, water flows more efficiently. There are two grades of Zeodiac Crystallite filter media, fine and coarse, and you need both grades to experience the difference with a MagnaPool®.
